These appointments are reflective of the company’s commitment to build and maintain a strong and dynamic management team.”
Dave Heagy joined ZELTIQ in March 2008 as the Director of Sales. He has made significant contributions to the development of the company’s sales strategy, helping to create a world-class sales organization. Heagy has 19 years experience in medical device sales and sales management. He has launched several new technologies in aesthetics, orthopedics, interventional cardiology and laparoscopic surgery for companies such as Thermage, Oratec, Sulzer Spinetech, Boston Scientific and US Surgical. Before joining ZELTIQ, he served as Western Regional Sales Director at Sciton, a manufacturer of aesthetic lasers, where he was part of the leadership team responsible for the successful introduction of three new technologies. Heagy earned his B.A. in marketing from the University of Florida.
Liz Newman joined ZELTIQ in 2009 as the Senior Director of Worldwide Marketing charged with managing the worldwide launch of the CoolSculpting procedure. She brings to the company a unique expertise in physician awareness and adoption as well as direct-to consumer marketing, both of which have led to her proven track record in the product innovation and commercialization of aesthetic applications. Prior to joining ZELTIQ, Newman served as General Manager and Sr. Director, Product Marketing at Align Technology, Inc. where she led the worldwide launch of the company’s Invisalign Teen product. Prior to Invisalign, Newman launched several products in the aesthetics industry at such companies including VNUS, Lumenis and the former Laserscope. Newman holds a M.S. in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and B.A. in government from University of Notre Dame.
ZELTIQ’s new Vice President of Reliability, Integrity and Supply Chain, Rick Poinsett, brings over 20 years senior management experience in manufacturing, R&D, quality assurance and operations to ZELTIQ, primarily in the medical device sector. He was a driving force at each of the companies for which he has served and has been a leader behind many acquisitions and operational growth strategies that resulted in successful corporate turnarounds. Before joining ZELTIQ, Poinsett served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Engineering at Greer Laboratories; Vice President, Development, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for In Sound Medical; and General Manager of REVA Medical. Prior to REVA Medical, he held several senior operations management positions at medical device companies. Poinsett holds an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue.
“These three executives bring to the team deep knowledge of the medical device market as well as broad business strategy experience that will be highly valuable during this period of accelerated growth,” added Nye. “They will each play a critical role in leading ZELTIQ into the future.”
