June 30, 2010 -- Santa Clara, Calif., June 30, 2010 – Packet Design, the pioneer and leader in the field of route analytics solutions for managing large IP networks, today announced that it has been named to Red Herring's North America 100 list, which recognizes the 100 most innovative private technology companies in the North America business region.

Red Herring’s Top 100 North America list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.

We are delighted to be honored as a recipient of the Red Herring North America 100 Award...this provides further validation of the value that our route analytics technology provides in helping to manage today’s increasingly complex IP network environment.

“Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across North America to the Top 100 Winners. We believe Packet Design embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. Packet Design should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”

Packet Design was chosen from hundreds of candidates and evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. This assessment of potential was complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models in North America.

Jack Bradley, Packet Design’s CEO, said, "We are delighted to be honored as a recipient of the Red Herring North America 100 Award. Red Herring has a proven track record of acknowledging those companies that are poised to disrupt an industry, and this recognition provides further validation of the value that our route analytics technology provides in helping to manage today’s increasingly complex IP network environments."
