ATV General Partners Jean George and Bob Hower are featured on this year's Forbes Midas List, which spotlights the 100 most active investors.
Jean George (# 76): Life sciences expert has logged strong exits in medical devices and pharmaceuticals. In 2007 Biogen acquired Syntonix Pharmaceuticals, a developer of drugs for autoimmune and hematologic disorders; Hypnion (sleep disorder drugs) was gobbled up by Eli Lilly. Spent 10 years in marketing and product development at Genzyme before entering venture capital.
Robert Hower (# 87): ATV's digital media and software expert backed Acme Packet (2006 IPO) and AppIQ (acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2006). Worked as a lease negotiator for commercial real estate developer Cabot, Cabot & Forbes before becoming a venture capitalist.
