Helixis Inc., a Carlsbad, Calif.-based developer of nucleic acid analysis tools, has secured $5.5 million of a $6.5 million round. It previously raised $10 million in Series A funding from Advanced Technology Ventures, Domain Associates and Okapi Venture Capital. www.helixis.com
